It's that time of year again for the Sacramento Clay Court League sponsored by Har Tru.  This years competition will include 3 divisions in a tournament format; Open, 40+, and 50+.  Special thanks this year goes to my buddy Dave Floth, who we couldn't do this league without.  He gets married next weekend so I am glad he got all this done in advance...... :)  He manages the website and offers great logical advice.  And of course Tim Beyer our Har Tru Representative who supports the league in such a big way.  Har Tru is now in their 7th year as Title Sponsors.  Expect the Long Sleeve T-Shirt, they have provided the balls, and of course the big Tri Tip BBQ from my buddy Kenny Vowel at the Season Ending Finals on November 2nd, 2014.  He just survived knee surgery and won't be on the court the rest of this year but he will be on the sidelines to hurl distracting comments to the favorites! We just reconditioned the courts again and they are in pristine condition.   What a blast to play on this surface, worth the entry fee alone just to feel the clay under your feet.

The site is now live, go to "Register" on the home page and follow the instructions then go through the procedure to pay your entry fee, $100 per team.  I expect some nice draws but really have to cut if off at 16 teams in a division so please if you have priority (previous years clay league player) sign up soon so we can get a waiting list going if necessary.

Over the next month i will get a list of additional sponsors and post them so we can maintain the prize money levels and hopefully improve on the second and third place money.  I of course will publish the budget like always so you can see that this is an exercise out of love and not money.  My goal is to provide at least $1000 to the first place team in any division but it depends on the draw size.

Finally, I am really bummed to eliminate the Mixed Division but we had only 3 teams sign up and it was a mad scramble to get that last team.  We just didn't have the participation.  Maybe if i get the notion that we have the participation we can add them next year or have a separate tournament altogether....
