With a 7-6, 7-6 win over Jeff Shin and Justin Garcia the very solid team of Eric Roberson and Darrin Cohen take the crown on Sunday to close the 2013 season. Before a crowd of about 85 tennis enthusiasts the teams came up with incredible shots one after the other. There were tweeners, around post shots, and even back spin angle volleys but in the end the solid play of Robo and Cohen gave them the victory and the $800 First place prize money for the Open Division. 40+ Results In the 40+ division Steve Scurfield and Bryan Paveglio took out Chris Evers and Dave Hagiwara to win the $1000 first place purse in 2 sets. The final score was 6-3, 6-1. MIxed Results It was a very tough day for Chris Gerety and Bella Norton, in the loss to Yasmin Schnack and Eric Roberson. They didn't get a game until they were down 6-0, 3-0 but once they got into the match it was just too late. The final score was 6-0, 6-3.  |
